Start-up Lloyd’s syndicate allocated 1965

Argenta’s new marine Lloyd syndicate will be allocated number 1965 when it begins trading next year, Insider Week can reveal.

Argenta – the renamed Lloyd’s insurer Sackville Underwriting Ltd – is forming a new syndicate which will target marine business from Singapore. According to sources the new underwriter will be Richard Yeo.

Capacity is set to be around the £20mn mark. Argenta was not available for comment at time of going to press.

Separately, an announcement is expected to confirm the successful start-up of Quanta Syndicate 4000, writing mostly European professional indemnity and financial institutions insurance under the leadership of former SVB financial institutions expert Mark Wheeler.

The Syndicate will be managed by Chaucer, which manages third-party syndicates alongside its owned syndicates under a “turnkey” arrangement.
