PartnerRe continues restructuring

PartnerRe has promoted Costas Miranthis to become deputy chief executive of its non-US operations, PartnerRe Global.

Miranthis, who joined PartnerRe in 2002, will also remain in his current duties as chief actuarial officer until a replacement is found.

The move is the latest in a number of moves at the Bermudian-headquartered reinsurer.

Last week, the firm said Tad Walker, currently head of its catastrophe business unit and member of the PartnerRe Global executive management team, will replace Robin Williams as the chief underwriting officer of the reinsurer’s US operations. Williams has said she intends to retire next year.

The move – which is effective from July 2007 – will see Walker reporting directly to Scott Moore, president and chief executive of PartnerRe US.

Separately, Ted Dziurman, currently responsible for Corporate Development for PartnerRe Global, will assume Walker’s role of Head of Catastrophe and will report directly to Bruno Meyenhofer, the chief executive of PartnerRe Global.
