Beaver is currently a non-executive director and chair of the risk committee at Newline Group and has previously acted as senior adviser for the Financial Reporting Council.

Jonny Groves will be responsible for leading Argenta’s global cyber business in his new role.

The incoming head of property was previously head of treaty, deputy active underwriter and director of underwriting at Agora Syndicate 3268.

The underwriter has more than 40 years’ experience in the market and was global head of marine and energy reinsurance at Axis Re.

The company will redeploy capacity via other operations including its Australian branches.

The increase comes amid improvements in the rating environment, a weaker sterling and the impact of inflation on insured values.

The departing CEO has led the business since 2006, including through its acquisition by Hannover Re in 2017.
