Tropical Storm Nicole could incur $1bn-$2bn of insurance losses: BMS’s Siffert

BMS senior meteorologist Andrew Siffert has said that Tropical Storm Nicole’s landfall as a Category 1 hurricane in Florida could be an industry loss event of around $1bn-$2bn for insurers.

In an interview with Inside P&C, Siffert said that losses could skew to the higher end of the range if the storm intensifies and makes landfall as a Category 2 hurricane.
