Since it became apparent that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the sanctions that followed, had the potential to create the biggest loss to the aviation market to date, the market has been scouring its policies for any potential avenues for claims to be made.

To date, most of the attention has been focused on the contingent market, where the aircraft leasing companies source cover when the operators’ policies fail to respond.
