Up to 1,500 firms in 17 countries hit by cyber attack on Kaseya

The ransomware attack on Florida-based IT firm Kaseya may have affected up to 1,500 firms in the US and 16 other countries, in one of the latest targeted hacks into US firms.

The Guardian and Reuters initially reported that between 800 and 1,500 businesses were affected by the hack, with the Guardian adding that independent researchers had pegged the figure at closer to 2,000.
