Senior broker Oyin Heath is set to leave Marsh-JLT Specialty to join BGC’s standalone aviation start-up, The Insurance Insider understands.
She is the latest executive to join a growing exodus from Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC), Willis Towers Watson and AJ Gallagher as BGC and McGill & Partners seek to disrupt the aviation broking market.
Heath leaves her role as managing director and UK leader of Marsh-JLT Specality’s aviation and aerospace practice.
Before joining MMC in 2012 she was a client executive at Aon Risk Services.
In her new position, Heath will work with Mark Costin, who earlier this month left Marsh-JLT Specialty for BGC Partners.
Back in June, BGC announced it would launch a new aviation insurance broking operation led by Marcel Chad and Philip Smaje.
The departure comes after this publication on Monday revealed Marsh-JLT Specialty had appointed former Boeing risk manager Michael Tarling to join its aviation operation in Chicago.
