Aviation broking moves continue apace with Willis Vine hire

Willis Towers Watson has appointed senior broker Nick Vine to a management role at its North American aviation division, The Insurance Insider can reveal.

He will be based in Houston and takes up the position of director for client relationship management.

Vine has more than 40 years’ experience in the aviation insurance market and moves to the business from Lockton, where he was director of its international aviation operation.

Prior to this he worked at Boston Marks and was previously a managing director for aviation at Marsh, according to LinkedIn.

The appointment comes as incumbent aviation broking market leaders AJ Gallagher, Marsh-JLT and Willis Towers Watson fight to stop new entrants BGC Partners and McGill & Partners pulling senior staff from their ranks.

In his new role, he reports to Jason Saunders, president of Willis Towers Watson Aerospace – North America.

The hire of Vine follows the appointment of the Steve Alexandris, who earlier this month joined Willis as a director at the broker’s aerospace practice.

A Willis spokesperson said Vine would work closely with the broker’s North American aviation team and help grow the growth of the broker’s portfolio around the world.
