Allied World Bermudian casualty team leader Kenahan departs

Hamilton Bermuda View

Allied World’s Bermudian branch manager for excess general casualty Patrick Kenahan and at least three members of his team have left the company, The Insurance Insider understands.

The departing team members, all based in Bermuda, are thought to include vice presidents Kimberly Pursell, Michael Watkins and Jason Pugi. It is not yet known yet where they are going.

Kenahan has spent a decade at Allied World in Bermuda and was most recently senior vice president and Bermuda branch manager for general casualty.

He joined Allied World from Iron-Starr Excess in Bermuda, which he joined in 2003.

He has also worked at AIG as a senior underwriter and Lancer as an underwriting manager, according to his LinkedIn.

Pursell spent 22 years at Marsh before joining Allied World in 2013, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Pugi was previously a VP at AIG in Bermuda in the cat excess department. He has also worked at Chubb of Canada for more than a decade.

Watkins formerly served as vice president of general liability at Alterra Bermuda Ltd, and before that worked as an excess umbrella with Chubb in Boston, according to Bermuda’s Royal Gazette.

Allied World declined to comment. Kenahan, Pursell, Pugi and Watkins could not be reached for comment.
