NFP appoints Fraser to lead marine practice

New York-headquartered insurance broker NFP has appointed Cran Fraser to lead its marine and energy division, The Insurance Insider understands.

Fraser joins the business from Alliant and takes up the role of vice president, energy and marine practice leader. He is based in Houston in the new role.

Prior to working at Alliant, Fraser held a senior producing role at Hays Companies and has worked in the insurance market since 1990, according to LinkedIn. He has previously held senior roles at major intermediaries including AJ Gallagher, Aon and Marsh.

NFP has this month made a clutch of hires in its financial institutions and private equity divisions as it works to grow market share in these two sections of the insurance market.

Tom Sheffield joined the business from QBE North America, alongside Mark Flippen, Natasha Kiemnec and John McNally.

McNally joined fellow M&A insurance specialists Andrew Pelzer, Vipul Kumar and Mike Sharkey who made the same move back in June.

Those arrivals were hot on the heels of NFP’s hiring of Doug Turk as regional managing director of property and casualty, West region. Turk had previously been chief marketing officer for JLT Group.

Alliant and NFP could not immediately be reached for comment on Fraser’s appointment.
