Deputy active Bellamy leaves Acappella for Fidelis

Acappella Syndicate 2014’s deputy active underwriter and property treaty head Matthew Bellamy is to join FidelisThe Insurance Insider can reveal.   

Bellamy worked at Acappella for five and a half years, joining as a class underwriter for property treaty.  

He was promoted to divisional head of the class in 2017 and made deputy active underwriter as well in February last year.  

Bellamy previously worked as a US property treaty underwriter at MS Amlin for more than seven years, according to his LinkedIn profile.  

Sources said that he will join Fidelis as a senior underwriter and report to Bermuda CUO and executive head of reinsurance Richard Holden – also an MS Amlin alumnus. 

Last month, Fidelis hired former Brit hull and war underwriter Bob Clarkson to develop its marine account. 

Fidelis declined to comment.  

Acapella did not respond to a request for comment.
