Mark Byrne is in prime position to consummate his deal to take a minority position in Omega after dominant shareholder Neil Woodford of Invesco Perpetual gave his blessing to the Flagstone Re founder's stakebuilding.
"Invesco Perpetual has confirmed to the board that the Haverford offer, including Mark Byrne's appointment as executive chairman of Omega, has its support in preference to the Barbican and Canopius proposals," Omega said.
