Willis has shrugged off the soft market to post a 10 percent increase in Q1 operating income to $301mn, as it succeeded in growing organic revenues across its business.
The global broker's headline revenue for the quarter grew 5 percent to $963mn, translating into a 3 percent organic increase once the effects of currency fluctuations and acquisitions are taken into account.
All three of the group's divisions - global, North America and international - produced organic growth.
