Last month's Waldo Canyon Fire ranks as the most costly in terms of insured losses in Colorado history with 4,300 claims already filed for $352.6mn with personal lines insurers alone.
The previous record for a single wildfire in the state was the Fourmile Canyon Fire in 2010 that led to an estimated $224mn in insured damage adjusted for inflation in today's dollars.
The Waldo Canyon Fire is estimated to have destroyed a total of 346 homes.
