Commercial P&C prices in the US were up 4.4 percent on average in the first quarter of 2012 compared to the prior-year period, according to The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB).
The CIAB's latest quarterly commercial P&C market index survey revealed that the increase, which is an average across small, medium and large accounts, outstripped that achieved in the fourth quarter of 2011, when rates were up 2.7 percent.
