UK ruling means strike outs unlikely for fraudulent claims

The UK Supreme Court has ruled that UK courts have the power to strike out fraudulent insurance claims for abuse of process but that this remains a "largely theoretical possibility".

The decision came in a 27 June ruling on the Fairclough Homes v Summers case, pursued by Zurich on behalf of the liability insurers for Fairclough Homes following an injury claim from a former employee.
