Until Apollo's interest in Lloyd's insurer Brit was made public a year ago, there was little more than a smattering of interest in Lime Street M&A. Since then, the market has sprung back to life with all of the small-cap quoted insurers perceived to be "in play" and a raft of modestly sized private insurers up for sale (see below).
There is a growing consensus that few of the Lloyd's insurers with market capitalisation of less than £500mn will survive...
