Terra Firma has said that it has no intention of making an offer to acquire Lloyd's insurer Chaucer plc after it was asked to clarify its intentions by the UK Panel on Takeovers and Mergers.
The Guy Hands-headed private equity company had revealed in a February stock exchange announcement that it was weighing up an offer for the London-listed insurer.
But its approach was thwarted by a rival £313mn bid from The Hanover that was recommended by the Chaucer board...
