The 1 January 2014 implementation date for Solvency II has been
confirmed by the European Parliament along with the 30 June 2013
deadline for EU member states to write the directive into national
law.
The European Parliament approved the directive outlining the
change of dates on 3 July, however industry experts have warned
that key issues still remain to be resolved.
The proposed Omnibus II directive was originally supposed to be
published and in force by the end of October...
