Shipowners enjoy another benign 2011 P&I renewal
The shipowner protection and indemnity (P&I) clubs have negotiated their 2011 policy renewals, with overall general rate increases remaining flat while reductions in excess of loss reinsurance costs have been passed on to members.
Early indications from the movement of shipowner tonnage among the 13 International Group (IG) clubs suggest that the North of England has continued to add vessels to its books, along with Norwegian mutual Gard and Steamship Mutual.
