Scor and Skuld set for New Year start as 1 April comes into focus

Two new syndicates are to add £135mn to capacity at the beginning of the 2011 underwriting year at Lloyd's, as predicted by The Insurance Insider, while other ventures target a 1 April start date.

Global reinsurer Scor announced it had received approval in principle to start a new Lloyd's syndicate for the 2011 year from 1 January.

Syndicate 2015's active underwriter will be former Liberty Syndicates director of underwriting Tom Corfield.
