US broker AmWins has settled the lawsuit it brought last year against Pat Ryan's wholesale start-up RT Specialty that alleged "misappropriation of trade secrets" after the defection of one of its senior brokers.

AmWins filed for damages against RT Specialty in the US District Court of the District of Connecticut in October 2010, after winning a court-ordered injunction against parent company Ryan Specialty Group and its former senior broker Dave Austin.
