Cat modelling firm RMS has released an update to its Japanese quake model incorporating data from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
The release "recharacterises the hazard" but is limited to source model updates, the firm said in an announcement today (3 October).
Event rates have been changed and new seismic sources have been included as well as large magnitude events.
