Quinn sentenced to 9 weeks in jail, pending appeal

Sean Quinn, the founder of Irish insurer Quinn Insurance, has been sentenced to nine weeks in jail for breaking court orders in a legal wrangle with the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC).

Bankrupt Quinn, who was once Ireland's wealthiest tycoon, was found guilty of contempt of court orders restraining the stripping of assets worth $430mn from his family's International Property Group (IPG).
