Global reinsurer PartnerRe has bought back $99.5mn of its shares in a privately negotiated transaction with an institutional shareholder.
The shares totalled 1.7 percent of the firm's outstanding stock as at 30 September and were bought back at a price of $77.50 per share.
The firm received approval from its board to buy back up to 7mn shares in September and has repurchased 3.2mn shares since then.
