US insurance giant Chubb and Bermudian (re)insurer Allied World Assurance Company (AWAC) will both begin underwriting at Lloyd's later this month for risks incepting on 1 July.
Although both have modest initial capacity, they are the latest in a long line of established industry (re)insurers to have received authorisation to form underwriting platforms at Lloyd's in recent years.
Both were widely trailed - The Insurance Insider predicted the arrival of Allied World as early as December 2009 - but nonetheless...
