Lloyd’s syndicates forecast second consecutive loss year

Lloyd's syndicates are predicting a 1.57 percent mid-point loss on capacity in the first indication of results for the catastrophe-laden 2011 year of account, while showing a modest improvement on the prior year's results.

The aggregate forecast result of all Lloyd's underwriters for the 2011 year - representing £21.5bn of capacity - shows a 4.62 percent loss in the worst case, with the most positive outcome a 1.48 percent underwriting return.
