Flagstone Re could again find itself in the sights of legacy players after prime bidder ANV's "final" offer passed a self-imposed end-June deadline without a response from the firm.
It is understood that ANV has not yet formally walked away from the process, but New York-listed Tower Group left last month and a failure to do a deal may bring the expansive legacy duo of Enstar and Catalina Holdings back to the fore.
