Bermuda-based Lancashire Insurance Company has become the first of the so-called "class of 2005" start-ups to be granted a positive outlook rating by AM Best.
The rating agency - which gave Lancashire an A- (Excellent) rating when it was launched in late 2005 - said the change reflects its expectation that the group will continue to experience "favourable" long-term operating results and maintain "excellent risk-adjusted capitalisation" levels.
