JLT buys control of Chile’s 4th biggest broker

London-headquartered Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Chilean broker Alta SA as the global broker continues to expand its Latin American presence.

Alta is the holding company of both Orbital Corredores de Seguros and Alta Re. It is the fourth-largest insurance broker in Chile.

JLT has agreed to acquire a 50.1 percent stake with the option to purchase a further 25 percent in 2020.

A purchase price was not confirmed in JLT's stock exchange...
