The pro rata earthquake reinsurance cover of the Japanese big three insurers renewed at 1 April despite the recent catastrophe, with only modest reductions in ceding commissions achieved, a renewal report from Willis Re noted.
Willis Re - the second biggest reinsurance broker in Japan - said that these pro rata quake treaties renewed with ceding commissions reduced by a maximum of 3 percent.
