Hannover Re has signed a deal to acquire Lloyd's managing agent Argenta following a protracted sales process, according to statements from the companies today.
Argenta, which is 45 percent owned by businessman Alasdair Locke, was put up for sale in September, with final round bids submitted in mid-January.
Bidders included Hannover Re, Matt Fairfield's start-up Exin and Taiping Re, the non-life reinsurance arm of life giant China Taiping.
