Hannover Re increased non-life premiums by 6 percent for the approximately two thirds of its treaty business that renewed at 1 January, the reinsurer said.
At 1 January 2011 Hannover had renewed treaty business worth EUR3.48bn of premium. This year it put EUR3.69bn of treaty business premium on the books.
Hannover non-renewed or modified EUR347mn of last year's treaty book, but this was more than offset by EUR563mn of premium from new or modified treaties.
