UK regulator the Financial Services Authority has signalled its
intent to step up cross-border cooperation by concluding an
agreement with the US Financial Industry Regulatory Authority
(Finra).
The exchange of securities in the US is regulated by Finra, which
protects investors from fraud and malpractice carried out by the
country's 4,700 securities brokerages.
Finra also undertakes regulation of the New York Stock Exchange,
the Nasdaq and the International Securities Exchange.
