The scale of the Deepwater Horizon disaster could lead to industry losses as high as $3.5bn once the potential impact of liability claims from the disaster are factored in.
This was the stark warning from Swiss Re on the 5 May which said it was now assuming a loss of $200mn based on a forecast range between $1.5-$3.5bn.
