Cyclone Phailin caused "extensive" damage when it hit the east Indian state of Orissa as a Category 4 storm on Saturday (12 October), risk modelling firm RMS said.
Heavy winds and storm surges washed away up to 10,000 homes and caused heavy disruption to power, communications and transport, it added.
