Outgoing New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has capped his period in office in characteristic style by agreeing a $120mn settlement with four insurance groups that he was prosecuting, including Ace and Zurich.
Cuomo succeeded Eliot Spitzer as attorney general in 2006 when the latter became governor, and brought some of his former colleague's crusading zeal to his work, clashing swords with the (re)insurance industry a number of times.
