Chaucer shares climb on takeover speculation

Shares in quoted Lloyd's insurer Chaucer Holdings have continued to climb today (12 April) as rumours persist of an imminent takeover bid.

Chaucer closed last week at 52p - up over 10 percent in the week - and has opened up a further 3 percent at 53.5p in early trading this morning on the London Stock Exchange to trade close to its net tangible assets (NTA).

The Lloyd's insurer has been touted as a potential M&A candidate since early 2009,...
