Chartis leads the cover for the ATR-42 turboprop that crashed in Venezuela yesterday, with cover placed by JLT, The Insurance Insider understands.
The crash happened at 10:00 local time on 13 September shortly after the plane left Manuel Carlos Piar airport. Officials said 15 people were killed with 36 survivors.
The ATR-42 turboprop belongs to the state airline Conviasa, and has a hull value of $9.9mn.
