Catlin US to usher in new CEO Andrew McMellin

Expansive specialty (re)insurer Catlin has promoted its deputy chief underwriting officer (CUO) Andrew McMellin to CEO of Catlin US to replace Richard Banas, effective from the start of September.

Banas, who has been president and CEO of Catlin US since 2006, will become chairman of Catlin's underwriting hubs in the Asia-Pacific region and Canada, as well as leading the group's insurance-related investment activities in the US.

McMellin joined Catlin in London in 1999 as class underwriter for non-marine liability business...
