Lloyd's (re)insurer Catlin is the lead for the commercial passenger jet that crashed in Libya in the early hours of today (12 May), while broker Aon placed the coverage, The Insurance Insider understands.
104 of the 105 passengers and crew on board the plane are thought to have died. The craft was operated by Libya's Afriqiyah Airways and is reported to have been an Airbus 330-200, although a registration number has not yet been made available.
