Former Marsh Europe CEO Bruce Carnegie-Brown will be recommended to the Lloyd's Council for approval as the market's next chairman, The Insurance Insider can reveal.
Sources said that XL Catlin deputy executive chairman Stephen Catlin and former trade minister Lord Davies, among the other shortlisted candidates for the role, had not found favour with the Nominations Committee.
A Council meeting is expected to be convened shortly, probably one day early next week, to ratify the decision.
