Brit Insurance's Syndicate 2987 will expand in 2011 and 2012 as the Apollo-CVC owned UK insurer deliberately transfers business away from its UK platform, Brit Insurance Ltd (BIL), and into Lloyd's.
The syndicate, which has capacity of £760mn for 2011, has applied to the Lloyd's Franchise Board to expand this in 2012 to channel more of its reinsurance and global markets business into Lime Street.
