Nick Bacon is stepping down as CEO of Marsh's London market wholesale division Bowring Marsh.
Marsh said Bacon was "leaving to pursue other opportunities following a distinguished 26-year career at the firm".
It is not known at this stage where he is headed.
He will replaced by Andrew Chester, chairman of Marsh's global mining practice.
Chester - who will also retain his current role - was previously head of Marsh's UK-based international insurance placement operations.
