Industry veteran David Smith has joined Axis Capital as CEO of its Australian operations.

Smith has worked in the financial services sector in Australia and New Zealand for more than 30 years. Before taking up his new position with Axis he was CEO of Zurich Financial Services Australia and prior to 2006 he served as CEO of IAG's New Zealand operations.
