After a turbulent year for the primary sector, aviation reinsurance pricing increased by up to 12.5 percent at the key 1 January renewal, according to Aon Benfield. The broker added that there were increases of approximately 10 percent across major risks, general aviation and retro.
Fellow broking giant Willis also said that aviation reinsurance pricing was "firming", with loss-affected excess of loss (XL) layers subject to a greater degree of pricing adjustment.
