HSBC in talks to sell broking arm; Marsh front-runner
Marsh is in advanced talks to buy UK-headquartered rival HSBC Insurance Brokers Ltd (HSBC) after the world’s third largest bank decided to exit insurance broking, The Insurance Insider has learned.
According to sources, staff were briefed on the possible deal, and officially informed that their jobs are under consultation. HSBC Insurance Brokers employs approximately 1,250 people worldwide.
