Since the beginning of 2010 reinsurers have paid Australian and New Zealand insurers $15.9bn to cover a series of catastrophic losses - a sum equal to almost two thirds of the total insured loss.
Malcolm Steingold, Aon Benfield's CEO for Asia Pacific, will tell the Aon Benfield Hazards Conference in Australia tomorrow (30 September) about the full scale of recoveries from the events, which have produced an estimated aggregate insured loss of $25.2bn.
