The nuclear market is set for a shake-up with the launch of a new agency backed by $200mn capacity from Lloyd's (re)insurer Amlin and other Lloyd's security.
Northcourt, a Malta-based MGA set up with the involvement of global broker Marsh, is able to place nuclear insurance programmes globally through a panel of Lloyd's insurers.
Northcourt said the entrance of new capacity is the first significant foray into the market in more than 30 years.
