Ratings agency AM Best has maintained a stable outlook on the reinsurance sector citing strong capitalisation and signs of a demand-led market turn.
AM Best said that despite absorbing an estimated $50bn in reinsured losses in the past two years, these loss events have proved to be manageable from a capital perspective.
The agency added that in spite of the global financial crisis, global reinsurers are "well capitalised and capable of absorbing significant losses from a combination of events."...
